WHO WE ARE
a shared passion: creating unique objects
Alessandro Debenedetti
Born in La Spezia on March 8, 1976, Alessandro grew up between the seas of Puglia and Tuscany, following his father, a Naval Officer, through various coastal cities in Italy. From a young age, he developed a deep passion for the sea and sailing, navigating along the Ionian coast aboard the family’s ten-meter sloop.
A key experience in his life was living in Tripoli, Libya, for two years, where he came into contact with diverse cultures and traditions.
In 1992, after a trip to the United States, he discovered surfing, a sport he still practices today; today he is also a muay thai trainer.
In 1998, he enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Florence.
Emiliano Fiordi
Born in Livorno on May 10, 1975, Emiliano grew up in a port city closely tied to the sea. His father, who worked at the harbor and was passionate about fishing, introduced him to sailing at a young age.
His maternal grandfather, who owned a mechanical workshop, passed on to Emiliano a love for engines and craftsmanship.
He also pursued martial arts from an early age, eventually becoming a fifth-degree black belt (5th Dan) at the age of 34.
In 1994, he met Domenico Moretti, a renowned builder of racing chassis and motorcycles, with whom he shared a strong friendship and common passions.
In 1996, Emiliano began studying Architecture at the University of Florence.
The Team
In 1998, thanks to a mutual friend, Alessandro and Emiliano met and discovered a shared enthusiasm for the sea, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and design. Along with two fellow students (Marco Francesoni and Pierpaolo Garripoli), they founded the design group DGFdesign.
In 2002, their work received international recognition from UNESCO, with the support of CICOP, and in 2003 they won the “Pirelli International Award” in collaboration with Professor Giuseppe Conti.
Their thesis project, Ferrari Aurea, quickly gained worldwide attention and was published in hundreds of copies. In 2004, the Italian magazine Quattroruote listed them among the top ten personalities of the year.
That same year, they founded the design firm DGFdesign.
In 2006, the professional paths of the original group diverged, and Alessandro and Emiliano went on to establish their own firm, Debenedetti & Fiordi designers, focusing on architecture, yacht design, and product development.
Over the years, their work has been featured in the most prestigious international design, boat, and motorcycle exhibitions, consistently earning awards and recognition.
And the story goes on...
